Background
Radha is a graduate in Political Science, from Loreto College, Calcutta University. She went on to acquire a bachelor’s degree in Education from Calcutta and later a post graduate diploma in Human Resources Management from Symbiosis, Pune. She was appointed to the Indian Ordnance Factories Service after successfully clearing the Combined Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, in 1990.

Since 1991, she has taken up and successfully worked on assignments in the private sector, relating to retailing in the financial services sector, project management and the teaching learning process. Organizations she has worked for worked for include, Thomas Cook India Ltd, Ma Foi Global Search Services Ltd and Association of Canadian Community Colleges.

Radha’s tenure at Thomas Cook, Foreign Exchange, at the start of her career, saw her take up a leadership role characterised by good people management, displaying strategic leadership and meeting business goals. She is credited with starting up new Foreign Exchange divisions for the company at multiple locations.

Radha has been involved in curriculum development and teaching of primary school children. Her interest in education led to her engagement as Programme Coordinator of the Canada India Institute Industry Linkage Project. The principle aim of the Project was to build greater cooperation between technical institutes and industry in the areas of curriculum development and on- job- training, in order to ensure better employability of the pass outs. The Project covered five states in western India.

Radha is a keen observer of political events across the globe and passionate about History. At ORF, Radha has a focus area to support research on advocacy in education and contribute actively to ORF Mumbai’s publication initiatives.
