Background
Riddhi Jaydeo Chokhawala completed her Bachelors in Architecture (B.Arch) from Mumbai University (2005) where her thesis was 'Sports and Recreation Complex at Seawoods, Navi Mumbai' for which she was ominated for the Charles Correa Gold Medal for the Best Thesis in Mumbai. Thereafter, she completed her Masters in Design (M.Des.) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (2007) where her thesis was 'Virtual Set Design for Jodhaa Akbar'.
She started her career as an architect and worked with Ar. Kamal Singh Malik and Associates on various architectural projects such as the Ishanya Mall in Yerwada, Pune and the Guru Nanak Hospital Extension in Bandra, Mumbai. Thereafter, she worked with TATA Elxsi Visual Computing Labs, Mumbai on the preproduction and prostproduction of various commercial films such as One Nigh with the King (2006), Jodhaa Akbar (2008) and a National Geographic Documentary on the Deluge of 26 July 2005 in Mumbai. Later she joined Honeywell Technology Solutions Ltd. At Bangalore, where she produced short scenario-building films and animations.
Since 2009, she has been a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Jabalpur, where she conducts workshops on animation.
Presently
Her interest lies in making documentary films and at ORF she undertakes several such films to complement the ongoing research works. Till date, she has produced the following films for ORF Mumbai:
1. Farming - The Gandhian Way, A Tribute to the Legendary Guru of Natural Farming Shri Bhasker Salve.
2. Making the Sewer a River Again - Why Mumbai must reclaim its Mithi.
