Energy/Coal/Power
Nuclear Energy Report Card: 2013
8 April 2014
Ashish Gupta,

The time has come to evaluate the position of the Nuclear Power sector. Though it is contributing to the generation side, its overall share has declined from 4% (2012) to 3.4% (2013) due to dramatic increase in generation from other sectors.

TRS may spoil the Congress's political game plan in Telengana

T.V. Rajeswar

Security
We need a lean, mean fighting force
07 March 2014
Vishal Nigam

The Indian military desperately needs to enhance its defence preparedness. However, given the country's fiscal constraints, this must be done by modernising weapons systems, instead of adding more boots on the ground.

Managing the nation's defence, somehow
06 March 2014
Vikram Sood

What is more, the Navy is increasingly deployed on coast guard anti-terror duties and not for its primary role.

Time to make villages attractive for tourists
21 February 2014
Jayshree Sengupta

18 March 2014
Manoj Joshi

The US would be foolish to deepen the new Cold War atmosphere by trying to isolate Russia over Ukraine developments. As for China, that option is simply not open to them any more.

Obama's 'reset' button with Russia jammed beyond repair?
