Pakistan's advice to Manmohan Singh

Vol. I Issue. XXIV
April 24, 2010

Manmohan Singh should save his own nuclear weapons

Lahore: Daily Ausaf/ Jasarat, April 19, 2010. Indian political leaders and the media have made a habit out of defaming Pakistan. Instead they should introspect the reasons behind the growing Naxal movement spread over 124 districts. India continues to suffer from a variety of violent movements - 'Hindu' terrorism, social anarchy and widespread political violence. India has been unable to prevent the smuggling of uranium and the death of its scientists due to radiation. In spite of all this, Manmohan Singh chooses to fear the safety of Pakistan's nuclear assets. He should know that Pakistan has a command and control system to secure its nuclear assets, while India has failed to save 76 of its paramilitary troops who were killed by Maoist warriors.

Pakistani students unfairly treated in SAARC University

Lahore: Daily Jasarat, April 23, 2010. Chief of Jamiat-Tolaba (Pakistan Islamic Students Union) Abdu Rashid accused India of mistreating Pakistani students in the South Asian University of the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC), scheduled to begin courses from August 2010. According to him, India wants to reserve half of the seats for its citizens and permit students from the other six member countries - Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bhutan - to compete for the remaining half. The Government of Pakistan has in fact, written a letter to the steering committee of SAARC University, protesting against the gross inequity in national representation. He also demanded that India quit the practice of unfairly harassing Pakistani citizens who visit India.

UN report blames Pervez Musharraf in Benazir's assassination

Islamabad: Daily Jasarat, April 18, 2010. The recently released United Nations report on the assassination of Benazir Bhutto has revealed the failure of Pervez Musharraf's government to provide adequate security to the two-time Prime Minister. Further, a detailed postmortem of the slain leader was not carried out, and the crime scene was washed off immediately, destroying evidence crucial to the investigation. The report also casts doubts over the involvement of the officers in charge of Bhutto's security on the fateful day. PPP's leader Makhdoom Amin Faheem, in the meantime, criticized the government of diverting the six billion dollars allotted to carry out the investigation.

Ruling parties using terrorists

Islamabad: Daily Ausaf, April 21, 2010. The entire Urdu media has blamed the United States for masterminding the suicide attack against a protest rally led by Jamaat-i-Islami, a staunchly anti-American political party. Even though the rally was organized against the ongoing energy crisis, many believe that the US intentionally targeted the JI. Some analysts also suspect that PML-N and PPP might also have been involved in the attack.

JI leaders refuse to believe that the Taliban could mount attacks against them, since the both share similar ideologies. JI chief, Munawwar Hussain, also blamed the present incumbents of fighting fellow Pakistanis in order to extract financial benefits from the US.
