Pakistan is mulling over a new Kashmir policy
Vol. I Issue. VIII
26 December 2009

India’s nuclear assets are not secure
Lahore: Daily Ausaf, December 23, 2009. The western media, obsessed with Pakistan’s nuclear weapons, refuses to report the lack of security of Indian nuclear assets. Recently, two computers were stolen from the Tarapur Atomic Station on November 28, 2009, political analyst Professor Mohiuddeen said. It is certain that some sensitive information was also stolen with those computers. Can the Indian government guarantee that the information will not fall into the hands of terrorist groups, especially when there are more than one dozen insurgencies growing all over the country?
One drinking water cooler was also recovered from the Keego nuclear power station. The water in the cooler was mixed with Tritium. Tritium is a radioactive material used for making nuclear devices. About 55 people were affected in the incident. In the third case, the Mumbai Police arrested three people and recovered five kilograms of refined Uranium, which could be used to make nuclear weapons, revealed a scientist working for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). But America and its friends are not scrutinizing India, because they only harass Muslim countries.
Pakistan making new Kashmir policy
Peshawar: Daily Ausaf, December 22, 2009. Agents of the Indian Army brutally slaughtered a Kashmir youth and gunned down the second after raping their two sisters. It has proved that Indian armed forces are no different than Changez Khan and Adolf Hitler. Therefore, Pakistan needs to increase the fighting in Kashmir once again to balance the power that was earlier sabotaged by General Musharraf under US pressure
The editorial argued that now the World Bank has also refused to accept Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) as an integral part of India and has rather insisted upon a disclaimer from the IoK government that funding for a project will not be seen as recognition of India’s territorial claim on the state. Pakistan should use this opportunity for claiming the entire Kashmir region. However, as India is keen to take the fund, Pakistan should play its role to resolve the Kashmir problem in the context of the World Bank policy.
Taliban achieves greater strength in Afghanistan
Islamabad: Daily Jasarat, December 26, 2009. There is little doubt that the Taliban in Afghanistan have strengthened their hold over the country. They mounted suicide attacks on the Indian intelligence agency, RAW’s office in Kabul in which eight persons were killed and 40 seriously wounded. The Taliban now control 33 of the 34 provinces in Afghanistan and are now emboldened enough to openly challenge US forces. Last week, the Taliban issued a six minute long video of a US soldier reportedly kidnapped on June 30, 2009 from the eastern Paktika province. The Taliban had previously released another video of the captured soldier on July 19 2009. The soldier identified himself as Private First Class Baobar Gahdal, born on March 28, 1986 at Sun Valley. He said that he was deployed in Paktika and is now under Taliban’s captivity.
Osama family sheltered in Tehran
Islamabad: Daily Ausaf, December 27, 2009. According to sources, family members of Osama bin Laden are sheltered in Tehran. Osama bin Laden’s wife along with their eight children and eleven grand children are living in an underground building near Tehran under heavy security cover. According to another news report, a daughter of Osama bin Laden managed to reach the Saudi Embassy after eluding guards who had held her.
No Need of Islam with Pakistan
Peshawar: Daily Ausaf, December 27, 2009. Mr. Hajji Mohammad Adeel, senior Vice President of Awami National Party (ANP) said that the name of Pakistan should be changed to Democratic Pakistan. The explicit mention of Islam, he said, was not required for a democratic country. He was addressing a Christmas celebration in Peshawar. He also said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan should not be required to be a Muslim.
Ausaf criticized him, arguing that when a Muslim could not be head of State in Britain or America, how it could be possible that a non-Muslim be elected as Prime Minister when 98 percent Pakistanis follow Islam. Reporters accused ANP of ’changing its Godfather from USSR to US’. They commented that had the ANP enjoyed wide mandate throughout Pakistan, they would have turned Pakistan into a Christian State.
