Pakistan feels another jihadi attack on India imminent

Vol. I Issue. IX

Jihadi Groups will Attack India Again

Lahore: Daily Khabrain, January 6, 2010. Pakistan expects another Jihadi attack in India soon. Many Pakistani analysts fear that a Jihadi group is planning to attack India to ignite a Pak-India war in near future. They are working under the umbrella of al-Qaeda and their aim is to prevent Pakistan from transferring more of its troops from its eastern border to counterinsurgency operations in North Western Frontier.

The rise of Islamisation

Karachi: Daily Ausaf, January 07, 2010. While the Western media remains critical of Pakistan?s Islamisation, Pakistan itself is striving hard to save Islam. After all, the Islamisation process is not going to be put to a halt. It is well known that 20 percent of French children are Muslims, and if this trend continues, France will turn into a Muslim country in 35 years. Britain has 2.5 million Muslims. Forty percent of Russian forces are Muslim. About 2.30 million Russians are Muslims and 1.5 million Muslims are residing in India. More than one thousand people convert to Islam everyday in South Asia. Now the question is how Islamisation will stop from attaining greater heights.

Growing Afghan Supremacy

Islamabad: Daily Jasarat, January 5, 2010. It is not by chance that Afghan supremacy is now gaining more strength than before. The entire South Asian Urdu, Persian, and Pashto print media widely agrees that the Afghan supremacy, led by Taliban, has gained much strength after killing eight US officials at a CIA base in Afghanistan. The US media also underlined the event as a second Pearl Harbor challenge. Former Deputy Director of CIA, Mr. John E. McLaughlin underlined it as a nightmare situation for the United States.

Reports indicate that the Afghan Taliban created havoc in Karachi and killed more than 56 people on the day of Muharram Ashoorah on December 28, 2009. The government recently passed a resolution, extending the re-habilitation period of the 1.7 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan by three years. Three million unregistered Afghan refugees are residing in Pakistan, including more than eighty thousands Afghans who have acquired Pakistani citizenship. The report concluded that the Afghan refugee community is providing shelter to the terrorists.

Karachi Blast: US security firm under scanner

Islamabad: Daily Jasarat, January 02, 2010. Various religious leaders, madrasa heads and business leaders condemned the Karachi attack, in which about 56 persons were killed and 142 seriously wounded. Jamaat-i-Islami chief Munawwar Hussein accused the American private military contractor Black Water of planning the attack. The JI chief alleged that Americans and Indians were controlling Karachi-based mafia groups and were behind the recent attacks. President Asif Ali Zardari however accused Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. On the eve of New Year, freelance militant Ismatullah Shaheen took responsibility for the blast, under the Pakistan Taliban?s initiative. But Tehreek-e-Taliban leaders Azam Tariq, Hakimullah Mehsud, and Qari Hussein have categorically denied their role in the blast.

Jamaat-i-Islami Chief Munawwar Hussein at a press conference said Black Water, the American private security firm, was increasing its presence in Karachi. About 300 persons were active in the city, operating out of bungalows and five star residential suites. He said Black Water has appointed about 60 locals, including 32 retired administrative and police officials. They are also employing people from marginal sections of society. He rubbished reports of the Taliban carrying out suicide attacks and blamed Indian and US agents of Black Water for most of the violence. He said the US wanted to put pressure on Pakistan to allow use of its territory as a base against Iran.
