Alstom wins steam power plants upgrade deal in Poland

June 19, 2012. Alstom has inked three contracts worth €10m to modernize Poland's fleet of steam power plants and industrial plants. PGE Gornictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna awarded a contract for the modernization of unit 3 of the 1492MW Opole Power Plant located in Brzezie, Opole Province. The deal includes an overhaul of the steam turbine and the delivery of an electro hydraulic control system which will result in extending the turbine's lifetime. The unit is scheduled to be commissioned by end 2012.
