June 26, 2012.Reliance Power has synchronised with the electricity grid a 300-MW unit of its Butibori thermal power project near Nagpur in Maharashtra. Power generated from the plant will be distributed to industrial and distribution utilities in Maharashtra. The second unit of the 600 MW plant is on track for commissioning, the company said. The ash generated by the Bultibori plant will be utilised by Reliance group's cement plant. Reliance Power has incurred an investment of over ' 3,600 crore in the Butibori plant.
