July 24, 2012. Jharkhand approved ' 1454.10 crore to the Power Grid Corporation Limited (PGCL) to strengthen electricity situation in the state. The cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Arjun Munda, approved it to the PGCL for laying transmission lines and setting up larger transformers across the state. It has approved '143.88 crore as advance money to PGCL. The cabinet decided to meet the expenses through taking loan from the Rural Electrification Corporation and raising a part from state planning.
