July 31, 2012. India Inc asked the government to immediately review the functioning of the national power grid and called for reforms in the sector. All sectors are affected by the power crisis. Assocham said industries in the country have suffered huge loses due to the power disruption. The country faced a major power crisis for the second consecutive day as three grids serving northern, eastern and north-eastern regions failed this afternoon, throwing normal life out of gear in 22 states. The government should take urgent steps to stop recurrence of such incidents.
